"Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Norway was an unexplored destination for many Indian travelers until a few years ago. However, the prospect of seeing fjords, the Midnight Sun and Northern Lights is now drawing many tourists from India to Norway. With nearly a 20% yearly increase in visa numbers over the last few years, the inflow of Indian tourists to Norway is consistently increasing. The efforts to promote Norway as an attractive destination for Indians have been actively pursued in recent years. Since 2015, the Embassy has helped six Indian films shootings in Norway, in an effort to use Indian cinema as an entry point to potential Indian tourists to Norway. We are also seeing a clear upswing in Indian film companies showing increasing interest in the breathtaking, picturesque locations of Norway. The Scandinavian Tourism Board is also actively engaging with the potential Indian tourist and seeing positive results now than ever before."
