RITZY HOTEL CHAINS MAKE BEELINE FOR BRAND GURGAON
Luxury hotel chains have found a new address in Gurgaon. After the runaway success of the Trident Hilton, the Oberoi Group is pulling out all stops to build a super-luxury hotel, The Oberoi with 175 rooms right next to it. The property, which is still in the design stage, is just one of several new hotels coming up in Gurgaon.

This property should be ready by July 2008. Similarly, Carlson Hospitality, which owns the small boutique hotel Park Plaza in Gurgaon, is preparing to bring a 400 room Regent, inclusive of 90 service apartments, reportedly in conjunction with Ambience Island complex on the freeway and is expected to open by April 2008.
Kulbhushan Kachru of Carlson Hospitality said, “We are very excited about Gurgaon as a market. Given the shortage of good accommodation, I see many more hotels coming up in the area.” Of the other big hotels under construction, the Inter Continental Crown Plaza with 235 rooms is likely to open by June 2007. Marriot is planning a 200-room hotel in Gurgaon’s Sushant Lok area by April2009. It is also believed that the Taj group may bring in its Residency brand in a tie up with
