SOUND OF THE INNER VOID

Strength is a much talked about and deliberated topic and if we are a little observant, we will find that every action around gets governed in one way or the other by the strength of the influencing factors. But since we are limited by our five senses, we cannot perceive the definition of strength beyond the visual appeal of the physical. As a result, huge businesses have come up to address this desire of ours “to look strong”.

Do those pumped up muscles of models and sculpted movie star bodies really symbolise strength? Is this outer display of so-called strength a reality? The answer to this is simple but lies in the “not so obvious” realm. Strength is a more deep and a more subtle concept. Real strength is not what our eyes perceive, it is in fact the inner strength, the true self of the being. And the secret to this is the inner stability or sthirta.

What is sthir, what is silent, is pure energy. Here we can say that just by the strength of one’s sthirta one develops the capacity to draw any kind of force inside. We can take a practical example, that of the Sun. It is sthir and does not move. This stability gives the Sun such a glow that everything around it gets drawn to it and the entire universe revolves around it. That is real strength.

In our previous articles we have been giving some simple practices for everyone to practice and benefit from which takes us towards sthirta. Now we will move on to a more intense and very effective technique for building the real strength which is all about maintaining inner silence. The “Sound of the Inner Void” is the technique which makes you experience this silence and sthirta.

Sound of the Inner Void: Start with the Guru Vandana as your Guru is the only energy which can take you beyond your limited senses and your physical limitations. Then sit in a comfortable position with your back straight and keep your eyes closed. Try and listen to every sound around you. Try and be aware of the sound of birds chirping, the sound of the fan, and each and every sound possible. Slowly from your surroundings move inwards to your physical body moving in from the skin to the organs going down to the cellular level. Try and hear the sounds inside each and every organ and each cell. As you will slowly draw your self inwards you will discover that each cell has it's own distinct sound. Now silence that organ and each individual cell and also wherever the sound is coming from make it go silent. Slowly there is complete silence. As you experience this silence gently become aware of soft whitish pink light all within and all around filling up the entire universe and just let go in this whitish pink hue.

After some time, return into your physical, entering your body from the ajna, the point right in the centre of your eyebrows. Slowly familiarise yourself with each and every part of your body, of each and every organ and each and every cell in your body. Then slowly doing your shantipath and Guru vandana open your eyes gently looking at the centre of your palms and then your physical body.

Regular practice of this procedure of Sound of the Inner Void helps you experience immense peace and calmness and strength within you with an improved clarity of thoughts. This kriya brings about strength and sthirta at all planes.
