THE MAGICAL POWER OF COLORS

If we gaze into the centre of a candle's flame the hottest region is blue, but at the same time the icy coldness of water is also a shade of blue

In our last article we introduced our readers to the basic technique of self healing. So lets delve deeper into the realm of colors which serve as tools for spiritual healing. If we carefully observe nature's bounty we shall come across a myriad of colors. Each color in turn is endowed with millions of shades. Each shade of each hue has a different effect on us as we look at it. For eg: consider the color blue. If we gaze into the centre of a candle's flame the hottest region is blue, but at the same time the icy coldness of water is also a shade of blue. A successful spiritual healer is one who has a thorough understanding of the properties related to each of the entire spectrum of colours of colors.

A simple yet an effective technique can be used to feel light in the stomach after a heavy meal. Even without medication or exercises the healing properties of certain colors can make one feel light and easy within minutes.

Sit comfortably with your eyes closed. Connect with your Guru as explained in the previous article. Gently begin breathing i.e. expand your abdomen when inhaling and contract when exhaling. Next become aware of your naval (belly button).

Now place the palms of your hands in front of your abdomen with the fingers pointing in towards the naval.

Gently now focus on a whitish orange light emanating from your palms and filling up your entire abdominal region. Let this whitish orange light wash every organ in your abdomen. After about a minute, let this whitish orange light change to a whitish green.

From this whitish green light let the green be absorbed through the walls of the stomach and the intestines leaving behind a pure white light in your abdomen after about two minutes. Now, gently focus on this white light changing to a cool whitish blue. Maintain your focus on this shade of blue for a minute, and then gradually withdraw your attention from your abdominal area back to your naval. Finally while maintaining your breathing, become aware of your complete physical form as you open your eyes.

The dissipating property of orange helps in breaking down the heavy prana. The cleansing and assimilating property of green help to absorb the prana from the food one consumes. The cooling property of whitish blue neutralizes the effect of orange.

This simple technique can be practiced sitting in a chair either at home or office, or just before going to bed.
