It is always interesting to read and watch a compilation of A-listers, anywhere in the world. Recently, in its GG2 Power 101, the Garavi Gujarat Publications listed the 101 most influential Asians in the U.K. Not surprisingly, given his enormous clout within the establishment and proven track record, Indian-origin Labour MP Keith Vaz emerged as the most influential Asian in Britain. Considering that the list also has the likes of L.N. Mittal and Swraj Paul, Mr Vaz can be more than just happy with this numero uno listing. He happens to be a Member of Parliament from Leicester East and is also chair of the powerful Home Affairs Select Committee, which makes him such a formidable proposition when any such A-list is drawn up. We have brought you a cover story on this topic.

Apart from the White House itself, Indian Americans have today come to occupy key positions at some of the most high-profile departments in the U.S. Government. Clearly, one of the indicators of Indian success in the USA is the story inside Goldman Sachs. With effect from January 1, 2013, the global financial giant has named 16 Indian Americans as Managing Directors, and another three as Managing Partners.
