SHAHEED NANAK SINGH FOUNDATION LECTURE

GURBANI FOR LEADERSHIP

Former chief of army staff and governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Gen JJ Singh (retd), delivered the 4th Shaheed Nanak Singh Memorial Lecture on Leadership at the Punjabi University, Patiala. He spelt out the tenets of Gurbani and India’s religious manuscripts and how they trained a man for leadership roles. The lecture is organized in memory of U.K. businessman Rami Ranger’s father, Nanak Singh who was slain at the time of partition. Dr Ranger who never saw his father (as he was in his mother’s womb) has set up the foundation to promote philanthropy in India. One of the areas that the foundation works in is the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers who otherwise have a very tough life ahead. We had featured Dr Ranger in our cover story of our special publication in January 2012
