Once he was firmly ensconced in the DDA, Mr. Bansal devised a plan of action and a clear objective to ensure that the Asian Games could be conducted without any negative media coverage and international fallout. He first set about settling strikes by the combined trade unions—and there were numerous those days of all political hues and colors. He then looked at filling in the substantial workforce requirements for constructing and managing infrastructure at the Games. A raft of laurels and accolades came his way for his role in HR and personnel management.
