Jaishankar meets Danish PM, focuses on green goals and anti-terror efforts

Copenhagen: On his official visit to Denmark, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen in May and conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s greetings. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to expanding the Green Strategic Partnership with Denmark.

“Thank PM Mette Frederiksen for warmly receiving me in Copenhagen this evening. Conveyed the personal greetings of PM Narendra Modi. Thank Denmark for its solidarity and support in combatting terrorism,” Jaishankar posted on X. He also appreciated Frederiksen’s guidance in advancing the green agenda and widening cooperation.

The meeting took place ahead of the upcoming 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Norway, which Jaishankar will attend in place of PM Modi due to schedule changes. The leaders discussed global and regional challenges, with counter-terrorism and green energy collaboration as top priorities. Denmark has been a consistent supporter of India’s stand on global terrorism.

The Green Strategic Partnership, launched in 2020, is a unique framework between India and Denmark focused on sustainability, renewable energy, and climate action.
