Historic India-Kuwait ties showcased at five-day exhibition in Kuwait City

Kuwait City: The five-day exhibition “Rihla-e-Dosti: 250 Years of India-Kuwait Friendship” opened in Kuwait, co-hosted by the Indian Embassy and Kuwait’s National Center for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL). Indian Ambassador Adarsh Swaika and NCCAL Director General Mohammad Al-Jassar inaugurated the event at the National Library. The exhibit features rare artefacts, manuscripts, photos, and trade documents, highlighting centuries-old trade and cultural ties.

Panel discussions included merchant families sharing historical connections with India dating back to the 18th century. The exhibition emphasizes Kuwait’s role as a maritime hub and its longstanding trade relations with Indian ports.

Ambassador Swaika praised the robust bilateral ties and growing economic cooperation, calling the exhibition a tribute to a shared history and a bridge for future generations.
