Meta has named Arun Srinivas as its new India head, marking a strategic leadership shift to accelerate growth and innovation

New Delhi: Meta has announced the appointment of Arun Srinivas as the Managing Director and Head of its India operations. This development follows the elevation of Sandhya Devanathan to an expanded role leading both India and Southeast Asia.

“We are appointing Arun Srinivas as the Managing Director and Head for Meta in India. This follows the recent announcement of Sandhya Devanathan taking on an expanded role of leading both India and South East Asia,” Meta said in a statement.

In his new and expanded role, Srinivas will focus on aligning the organisation’s business, innovation, and revenue priorities to better serve partners and clients, while continuing to drive Meta’s long-term growth and commitment to India.

Meta stated that he will lead the India charter and further deepen strategic relationships with the country’s top brands, advertisers, developers, and partners to drive business growth.

He will assume his new responsibilities starting July 1, 2025, and will continue to report to Sandhya Devanathan, the company added. “As India continues to be at the forefront of economic growth and innovation, we are excited to have Arun at the helm of our efforts in this critical market,” said Devanathan, Vice President (India and South East Asia), Meta.

Meta highlighted that its operations in India are leading the way in AI adoption, WhatsApp usage, and the popularity of Reels. “Arun’s impressive track record of building high-performing teams, driving product innovation, and fostering strong partnerships makes him the ideal leader to drive Meta’s continued investment in the country. He will continue to work closely with me as we scale the business in India,” Devanathan added.

A post-graduate from IIM Kolkata, Srinivas brings nearly three decades of leadership experience in sales and marketing across companies like Hindustan Unilever, Reebok, Ola, and investment firm WestBridge Capital.

He currently serves as Director and Head of the Ads Business in India. Since joining Meta in 2020, he has played a key role in leading the company’s engagement with India’s largest advertisers and agency partners, with a strategic focus on areas such as AI, Reels, and Messaging.
