Samsung Expands Bharat
Korean giant boosts device manufacturing in India.
New Delhi: Samsung is scaling up manufacturing of advanced devices, including laptops, in India, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said. India’s electronics output has risen from $31 billion to $133 billion in a decade, with exports up 47 per cent in Q1 FY26 versus Q1 FY25.
Samsung employs over 7,000 engineers in its Indian research unit. The country now hosts 300+ mobile manufacturing units, up from just two in 2014.
PC shipments rose 7.1 per cent year-on-year in Q1 FY26 to 3.39 million units, IDC data showed. Samsung said its ‘Made in India’ Galaxy Z Fold7 has seen unprecedented demand, even in Tier 3 and 4 markets. “We are allocating stocks deeper into Bharat,” said Raju Pullan, Senior VP, Samsung India.
The device is sold out in select markets, with Noida facilities ramping up output.
