Jersey City, often described as ‘Little India’ around Journal Square and Exchange Place, has long been enriched by Indian Americans shaping its economy and culture. Singh’s victory validates that contribution. Running on Solomon’s ‘Team Solomon’ slate, she prioritised stabilising property taxes, expanding youth recreation programmes and improving services for working families.

Her strong record as a nonprofit leader played a pivotal role. Singh founded JCFamilies, a major grassroots network supporting women, children and working parents. She also launched Indians In Jersey City, fostering cultural identity, immigrant support and a vibrant community voice.
