Both Mongolia and India take part in United Nations’ Peace Keeping operations. We view it as our contribution to the international and regional peace and stability. In a bid improve efficiency and skill of our troops we have formed UN training center for peace keepers where various training modules are being undertaken. One of them is as you have mentioned Nomadic Elephants which becomes pretty regular in recent years either in Mongolia or in India.
It is a welcome step that both India and Mongolia have declared support for one another for UNSC non-permanent seats in 2021 – 2022 and 2023 – 2024. Your views on this, please…
Apart from bilateral arena Mongolia and India enjoy close collaboration on regional and international arena including United Nations. In a way of exchanging views on issues of mutual interests as well as coordinating our positions. What you have mentioned in regard to UN Security Council’s non-permanent members election is one where we have a good tradition of reciprocal support apart from supporting one another’s endeavor.
What are the opportunities in the Mining Area in Mongolia for Indian investors?
Mongolia is known as one of the sparsely populated land richly endowed with natural resources surrounded by enormously big markets. Mining, agriculture and animal husbandary have a substantive role in our economies so both Mongolia and India pay much importance to climate change and environmental protection which are indeed promising areas for broader integration.The Government of India rendered assistance to Mongolia in training our national personnel, promoting SME under its ITEC program our professionals on short and long term trainings since 1987 and our experts are studying in the India..
Mongolia’s natural resources, livestock and suitable geographical setting with abundant renewable and other sources of energy could become viable arena for mutually beneficial collaboration given her favorable taxation and foreign investment environment.
With Line of Credits offered by India gigantic projects, contemplated by the Mongolian Government for the coming months offer a promising perspectives for our bilateral economic and trade interactions.
Are we expecting some business and / or trade delegations from Mongolia to India, and vice versa?
Recently, we had Mongolian national flag carrier’s delegation visited India and met their colleagues so expect a code sharing flights between Mongolia and India be commenced shortly. Another piece of news is initial talks between commercial banks are also going on so that transactions should be conducted fast and efficient manner. Given the growing prospective of economic cooperation and frequent flow of visitors we find direct links of commercial banks would become inevitably necessary.
As you mentioned a visit by business delegation Mongolian dairy manufacturers formed up National Dairy Council and its delegation is visiting India in March to get acquainted with India’s experience.
