A legend is no more among us. Even to write about the passing away of Mr Inder Singh is deeply painful.

Mr Inder Singh meant many things to many people. He was an outstanding family man, a highly respected community leader in the Indian diaspora, and someone who knew the fine art of making friends and keeping them all over the world.

I first met him in January 2005 at a GOPIO function on the sidelines of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Mumbai, and ever since I began to appreciate how sincerely he cherished furthering the cause of the Indian diaspora.
