CHURCHES OF BELARUS

Churches of Belarus are of particular interest to lovers of history and architecture: in a country that has long been a European crossroads, you can see Catholic churches, Orthodox churches, synagogues, Tatar mosques, wooden churches of the Old Believers. This opens up rich opportunities for religious tourism. Thousands of pilgrims every year visit the largest Orthodox monastery in Belarus - the Holy DormitionZhirovitskaya monastery, where the miraculous image of the Zhirovitskaya Mother of God is kept. The Day of Remembrance of the Icon of the Mother of God Yurovichi is celebrated on 13 September. Every year on this day, a procession from Mozyr to Yurovichi is held in honor of the miraculous image. Every year at the beginning of July, thousands of pilgrims go to the modest village of Budslav, where the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Budslav is kept in a magnificent baroque church.

The Belarusian land is rich in miraculous phenomena and signs. Myrrh-streaming icons, amazing images of Christ and the Mother of God, showing through on trees and stones, unique crosses-boulders growing straight from the ground like in ancient Turov - all this attracts people who are carried away by the unknown. Many come to plunge into the Belarusian Holy springs, the healing power of which is confirmed by both scientists and clergy.
