Campaigning was tough, he said. Walking up and down hills was rough on him. “This was my priority,” he said. “After a long discussion, I finally agreed. The campaign support was the best you could have wished for.” Kanji said main issues during this election were cars speeding through the community and public transportation.

Kanji’s older brother Nizar Ismail Kanji (NIK), a chartered accountant by profession, lives in Canada and served as national president of the Aga Khan Council.
