THE ENERGY AND RESOURCE INSTITUTE (TERI):
Fiji signed a declaration of partnership with India’s The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) for assistance in tackling climate change effects and achieving environmental sustainability.
The partnerships and collaborations with TERI and Fiji under the umberalla Department of Environment Fiji provides a vital component of the global effort to tackle climate change and achieve environmental sustainability.
Under this declaration, TERI provides technical assistance in a variety of areas including waste and pollution management, developing ‘green’ energy efficient buildings, remote monitoring and reporting of environmental impact assessments as well as aligning policies with environmental aims to the government of Fiji.
COALITION FOR DISASTER RESILIENT INFRASTRUCTURE (CDRI):
Fiji is one of the founding members of CDRI with the objective to expand the development of resilient infrastructure and retrofit existing infrastructure for resilience, and to enable a measurable reduction in infrastructure losses after disasters in Fiji.
