Bridging Cultures: ‘Pura Vida’ and ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’

Costa Rica and India share a deep philosophical bond that transcends geographical boundaries to promote harmony, peace and universal brotherhood. This bond is fundamentally rooted in the rich cultural and heritage of the respective countries, while embracing the ideals of global interconnectedness and harmony. The Costa Rican philosophy of “Pura Vida,” meaning “pure life”, encapsulates the idea of appreciating the beauty of the environment, strengthening community ties and being fully present in every moment. This is complemented by the ancient Indian wisdom Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which translates as “the world is a family”. Both philosophies emphasize interconnectedness, compassion, gratitude, cultural exchange, peaceful cooperation and sustainable environmental stewardship.
