Finally, what is your message to the Indian public and business community?

It is with great warmth and a deep sense of friendship that I extend greetings on behalf of the Government and people of Seychelles to our esteemed friends across India.

Seychelles and India share a relationship anchored in mutual respect, shared values, and a vision for a secure, prosperous, and sustainable Indian Ocean Region.

Our two nations, though different in size, are united by a common maritime heritage and a longstanding tradition of partnership across sectors ranging from security and development to culture and education.

As Seychelles continues to champion the cause of environmental stewardship, climate resilience, and sustainable ocean governance, we are heartened by India’s consistent and principled support. Our joint commitment to addressing climate change and promoting the Blue Economy stands as a testament to what is possible through South-South cooperation and strategic dialogue.

Today, I wish to address the vibrant Indian public and the dynamic Indian business community with a message of opportunity and collaboration.

To the Indian Business Community: We extend to you a sincere invitation to look at Seychelles as a trusted partner and promising gateway to the wider Indian Ocean and African regions.

Our country offers a stable and investor-friendly environment, a skilled bilingual and educated workforce, and strategic access to the Indian Ocean maritime corridor.

India’s role as a leader in technology, trade, and entrepreneurship makes it a natural partner as Seychelles advances its national development priorities, with sustainability at the core. We welcome partnerships that are innovative, inclusive, and forward-looking, guided by a shared commitment to equitable growth and environmental responsibility.

Let’s fully explore the growing avenues of trade, investment, and innovation in our island economy. A growing range of opportunities in sectors such as:

  • Sustainable tourism and eco-hospitality
  • Renewable energy and green infrastructure
  • Marine biotechnology and sustainable fisheries
  • Information and communication technology
  • Financial services and fintech innovation

Indian entrepreneurs and investors can engage with Seychelles through business delegations, joint ventures, and sector-specific partnerships. Our institutions, including the Seychelles Investment Board, stand ready to support your ventures.

For Indian citizens and travelers: Seychelles, your second home, offers not just scenic beauty, but also serenity, heritage, and hospitality that reflects the spirit of friendship. We offer more than a destination, we offer a sense of welcome, peace, and connection.

Seychelles remains deeply appreciative of the warmth and curiosity with which Indian travelers, students, professionals, and families engage with our country.

With visa-free access, close connectivity, and cultural affinity, Seychelles invites you to experience our islands not just as tourists, but as friends and valued guests.

As our two nations continue to foster closer people-to-people ties, we welcome more Indians to explore our natural beauty, rich Creole heritage, and the spirit of harmony that defines Seychelles.

May I take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to all those who have spared no efforts in providing me support and assistance allowing me to efficiently discharge my responsibilities since my arrival in India in February 2023. Let us continue to build bridges of trust, opportunity, and mutual prosperity.

The relationship between Seychelles and India continues to evolve with purpose and promise. As we confront global challenges, from climate change to economic resilience, we do so with the confidence that our partnership will continue to be a source of strength, innovation, and hope.

Being the first woman holding the post of High Commissioner of Seychelles to Bharat, I feel privileged to serve as a bridge between our two nations and to witness the deepening ties between our two peoples. I remain committed to further strengthening our relationship across all fronts, political, economic, cultural, and beyond, and ensuring that Seychelles remains not only a strategic partner to India but also a trusted friend.
