The two Prime Ministers also hailed the signing of multiple MoUs spanning community development, energy, science, marine research, higher education and space cooperation. They announced plans to expand digital and financial integration through local currency trade, UPI and RuPay, alongside deeper security cooperation in Mauritius’ Exclusive Economic Zone.

PM Modi congratulated Ramgoolam on the conclusion of the Chagos Agreement, calling it a “historic victory for Mauritius’ sovereignty”, and reaffirmed India’s steadfast support for decolonisation and the full recognition of Mauritius’ territorial rights.

Both leaders agreed that their ties have now entered a more dynamic and forward-looking phase, guided not only by history and geography, but by shared values, a common vision and an enduring friendship.
