When PM Modi visited Mongolia in 2015 he had extended a USD 1.23 billion line of credit to this northern eastern Asian nation. Today, with the help of Indian expertise and technology, Mongolia is building a state-of-the-art oil refinery—the first in the country—that promises to provide it with energy independence, reduce the outflow of foreign exchange, stabilise market prices, promote local manufacture of value-added products, and set up a new industrial centre in the Gobi desert region. We’ve a report, brought to us by the Mongolian mission in Delhi, a regular contributor to India Empire magazine.
