India Rejects Blackmail

Singapore: The all-party parliamentary delegation led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha affirmed that India will give a fitting reply to any terrorist attack and will not tolerate nuclear blackmail. In a meeting in May with Sim Ann, Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs, the delegation underlined the importance of Operation Sindoor and India’s fight against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.

Sim Ann condemned all terrorism, reaffirming Singapore’s support to India in counterterrorism cooperation. According to the Indian High Commission, she reiterated that India and Singapore are close partners working to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Jha also briefed Singapore on India’s stance post the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, the launch of Operation Sindoor, and India’s “new normal” counterterror strategy. The delegation emphasized India’s united political stance against terrorism and described the Pahalgam attack as an attempt to disrupt peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir.

India’s response was described as “measured, non-escalatory, proportionate, and responsible.” The delegation sought Singapore’s support at multilateral fora, such as the UN and FATF, in combating terrorism. Later, the delegation engaged with Singaporean government, media, academia, and business leaders, discussing India’s post-Pahalgam strategy and thanking MPs Janil Puthucheary, Vikram Nair, and Saktiandi Supaat for their support.

The delegation included MPs from BJP, Trinamool Congress, CPI (M), and Congress, along with a former Indian ambassador.
