Dr. Amar Bose, Bose Corporation Founder

Dr. Amar Bose, Bose Corporation’s Founder, Chairman and Technical Director, on April 29, 2011, gave Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) a majority of the stock of Bose Corporation in the form of non-voting shares. His net worth in 2011, as per Forbes 400, was $1.0 billion. MIT will receive annual cash dividends on those shares to sustain and advance MIT’s education and research mission.
