So what is the current process of engagement like?

Through this process of continuous engagement, both Governments have prepared the grounds for the private sector to thrive. We have identified several sectors in which the private sector can create synergies. Among the principal sectors identified, I shall mention Science and Technology. We are among few countries with which India is engaging in this field within the framework of a Joint Working Group. We found that it will be profitable for us to have scientists from both countries work together in this area. Another important sector is ICT. This sector accounts for nearly 7 per cent of the Indian economy, and incidentally it is also the same for Tunisia. There is a dedicated joint working group at the Governmental level, and we are opening up this space for greater private sector participation. In June-July 2015, the Tunisian Minister of IT and Digital Economy visited India along with a team of experts, who took part in the second session of this Group. They had the opportunity to interact with their Indian counterparts. Our Minister paid a visit to Bangalore in order to speed up cooperation in the field of IT and Space Technology.
